Campus Advisory: Gas Leak ( 9/26/2022)

Update, 8:12 p.m.: The gas leak in front of the Bell Building on St. Philip Street has been contained, and the sidewalk is back open. Crews will return this weekend to continue repairs.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act, the Department of Public Safety is informing the College of Charleston campus of a Gas Leak on St. Phillip St. in front of the Bell Building, 81 St. Phillip St.

Location: St. Phillip St. between Calhoun and Vanderhorst, 81 St. Phillip St.

Incident Description:

Dominion Energy is on scene investigating a gas leak in front of the Bell Building, 81 St. Phillip Street.  Currently, access to the Bell Building is restricted to the side entrance near Mail Services.

Please utilize the sidewalk on the east side of St. Phillip St. (Berry Residence Hall side).

As of now, classes continue in the Bell Building as scheduled.  If that changes you will be advised.
