CAMPUS ADVISORY: Hurricane Ian Coming Ashore in South Carolina

By | September 30, 2022

Dear Campus Community,

The College continues to closely monitor Hurricane Ian as it comes ashore in South Carolina. Charleston County and surrounding areas remain under a Hurricane Warning and Flash Flood Warning.

Everyone should remain indoors until the storm has passed. Even after the storm has passed, travel may be dangerous due to flooded streets and downed limbs.

Liberty Street Fresh Food Co. will open at 1 p.m. today (Friday). Any students who want to eat in this dining hall, even those without a meal plan, are welcome to eat for free on Friday only. (Please bring your Cougar Card for entry or to tap if you have a meal plan.) Students should only travel to Liberty Fresh Food when safe to do so.

The College will update campus with a projected timeline for reopening as soon as the storm has passed later today.

Sincerely,

CofC Emergency Management Team
