CofC Issues Guidelines for Employees Returning to Work on Campus

President Andrew Hsu sent the following message to the campus community on May 19, 2020:

Dear Campus Community,

I hope everyone is doing well.

As communicated to you last week, the College is initiating its Return-to-Work Plan, a multi-phased approach for our campus to slowly, methodically and safely begin its path back to “normal” operations.

I encourage everyone to review the Return-to-Work Plan.

Just to be clear, during Phase One, the vast majority of our employees will continue to work remotely.

I want to thank our Office of Human Resources for taking the lead and working so diligently with so many different partners across campus and across the state in formulating this plan.

As I shared last week, for the campus to be successful, we will have to practice safety collectively. Our desire to reopen campus to our students in the fall is contingent on our entire campus community’s ability to be disciplined in following safety and health procedures as outlined here – and that doesn’t even factor in state and federal restrictions if pandemic numbers spike in the coming weeks and/or months.

On Wednesday, May 20, our Office of Human Resources will lead training sessions for supervisors about this Return-to-Work Plan. And, we will also answer any questions you may have at our faculty/staff virtual town hall meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 (https://go.cofc.edu/faculty-staff-virtual-town-hall [CofC credentials required]).
